I am a bereaved man who lost my husband to cancer last year and am now horribly single again. It’s wonderful to know that Kate embraces singleness. It’s also wonderful to know that heaven awaits us! Thankyou Kate for your words. So much you've written about being a parent, being a mother is so insightful.
Being single through widowhood, after 33 years of marriage is simply awful. We were unable to have children which was difficult for us both. Now I'm alone, the loneliness is excruciating and I wonder often would it be different if I had children? Possibly but not definitely. Life is such an emotional struggle, every day.
Thank you again for your comments on motherhood. I am a landlord and although my lodger is a nice person, it is a business arrangement, we lead separate lives and in no way gives me "support".

I was bubbling with a single friend, but he has been so scared off by recent fear mongering in the news that he is scared of the police bashing the door door (due to holier than thou neighbours snitching - because I don't live locally).
Unfortunately I moved to my current town 6 weeks before Lockdown 1 and had no time to establish a new network. Thanks for the honesty!
As a single in my 60`s with all the dilemmas of who to Bubble with, I didn`t! 3 weeks ago a couple invited me, as their daughter returned to Uni. Thanks for opening the space. Might have been able to do so earlier, but better late than never, so grateful to have been acknowledged and invited. Have met up just twice since. No desperately needed hug - or touch. I don`t want to scare them away! They could be the difference to my isolation sanity. Why am I crying as I write? Bubbles can be practical (grand-parent etc) but also acknowledging I am alive, and that means relationship. One day at a time, but HEY I`M IN A BUBBLE!
